Are you bringing musicians?
What you pay your musicians should reflect their experience and the event — not yours. An experienced musician at a private event probably expects $250–$350 minimum regardless of where you are in your career. For corporate events, $300–$500 is common and sometimes upwards of $800 for high caliber bands. Underpaying your band reflects on you as a bandleader and makes it harder to get good people next time.
Will this gig require rehearsal?
If this gig requires rehearsal, make sure it's reflected in what you pay your musicians. Some bandleaders pay a separate rehearsal fee, others factor it into the gig rate upfront — either way, their compensation should account for the extra time.

Are you providing sound / PA?
Sound is a real cost whether you're bringing your own equipment or hiring someone. Either way, build it into your rate. For private and corporate events, budget $600–$1,500 for sound depending on your setup and band size. Don't eat this cost — the client should be covering it.

Travel is a real cost and your time on the road is worth something too. Make sure your rate accounts for gas and mileage.

Does this gig require a hotel stay?
If this gig requires an overnight stay, unless the client is booking your hotel, make sure your rate includes the cost of your hotel stay. If you're also responsible for your musicians' accommodations, factor those in as well. One room with two double beds is a reasonable accommodation for two people.
